SMYLES ENTERTAINMENT

Frequently Asked Questions

We represent models, actors, and entertainers across film, television, commercials, print, social media, and live events.

We believe an informed talent is a prepared talent. The entertainment industry moves fast and the people who succeed in it are the ones who understand how it works before they walk in the room.

Read through the questions below carefully. The answers are straightforward because that is how we operate.

If your question is not answered here, reach out directly. We are accessible, we are serious about what we do, and we are here to work.

Email: Talent@smylesentertainment.com with any questions you may have. Please allow 24-48 hours for reply.

Q: Does Smyles Entertainment charge for representation?

A: Never. We do not charge talent for representation and we never will. At Smyles Entertainment, we only earn when our models earn. If anyone in this industry asks you to pay upfront for representation, walk away. That is not how legitimate agencies operate and it is not how we operate.

Q: Do I need experience to apply?

A: Not at all. We actively welcome new faces. Raw potential is just as valuable to us as a resume full of credits. If we see something in you, we will invest the time to develop it. Experience is something we can help you build. What we cannot teach is natural presence and that is what we are looking for.

Q: What ages and sizes does Smyles Entertainment work with?

A: Everyone. We represent talent of all ages, all sizes, and all backgrounds. The entertainment industry needs real people and it always has. Our job is to make sure that every person who walks through our doors has a genuine shot at being seen.

Q: What kind of work can I expect as new talent?

A: That depends on where you are starting from and how serious you are about the process. We look at your availability, your goals, and what you are willing to put into developing your portfolio and your skills. The talent who invests in themselves consistently are the ones we can do the most for. The more ready you are, the more doors we can open.

Q: Is this industry right for me or my child?

A: That is one of the most important questions you can ask and we respect you for asking it. The entertainment industry rewards people who are committed, coachable, and resilient enough to handle rejection and keep going. For children especially, it is critical that the desire to be here comes from them and not from the adults around them. If you or your child have a real passion for performance and being in front of the camera, we want to have that conversation with you. We will always be honest with you about what this path looks like.

Q: What makes someone stand out to Smyles Entertainment?

A: Honestly, it is not always what people expect. Yes, we look at your appearance and your experience, but what truly separates the talent that grows from the talent that does not is attitude. Coachability, professionalism, reliability, and a genuine hunger to improve. Those are the qualities that build long careers in this industry and those are the qualities we look for when we decide who we want to invest in.

Q: Can I be represented by Smyles Entertainment if I am already signed with another agency?

A: It depends on your current agreement. Some representation contracts are exclusive, meaning you can only be signed with one agency at a time. Others are non-exclusive, which allows you to work with multiple agencies simultaneously. When you reach out to us, be upfront about any existing representation and we will figure out the best path forward together.

Q: What happens after I submit my information?

A: Every submission we receive gets a careful look. If we see a fit, we will reach out to schedule a meeting and walk you through next steps. Please allow a few weeks for a response as we want to give every submission the attention it deserves. If you do not hear from us right away, do not be discouraged. Keep building your craft and stay ready. The right timing matters in this industry.

Q: What types of jobs will I be submitted for?

A: Depending on your look, your skillset, and your experience level, we submit talent for film, television, commercials, print advertising, social media campaigns, live events, and more. We cast a wide net because we believe in putting our talent in front of as many legitimate opportunities as possible. What projects make sense for you will be shaped by what you bring to the table and how available you are to show up for them.

Q: Is Smyles Entertainment only based in Southern California?

A: Our foundation is in West Hollywood and we are building our presence in the midwest. That means our talent benefits from connections on both coasts and everything in between. What we are creating here goes far beyond the Midwest.

Q: Will I need to spend money on anything to get started?

A: Smyles Entertainment charges zero fees for representation. That will never change. That said, building a career in entertainment does require investing in yourself over time. Headshots, portfolio development, and training are tools that belong to you and they directly affect how much work you book. Those costs go to the professionals providing those services, not to us. We will always be upfront about what we recommend and exactly why we recommend it.

Q: How long before I start booking work?

A: There is no universal timeline because every person is different. What we can tell you is that we do not sit on our talent. Once you are with us, we are actively working to match you with the right opportunities. Your commitment, your preparation, and your availability are the biggest factors in how quickly things move. We do our part every single day. We need you to do yours.

Q: What is your Sunday event and how can I attend?

A: Our Sunday event is an open experience designed to bring local residents inside the entertainment industry for a real, behind the scenes look at how it works. It is built for people who are curious, motivated, and want to explore what a career in this space could look like.

Q: What exactly does Smyles Entertainment do for me?

A: We are your representative in the entertainment industry. We submit you for opportunities, negotiate contracts on your behalf, secure your auditions and callbacks, and make sure you have everything you need to show up and perform at your best. Directors, producers, and casting directors prefer to work through an agent rather than directly with talent. That is the role we play. We handle the business so you can focus entirely on the work.

Q: How available do I need to be?

A: Availability is one of the most important factors in how much work you book. Opportunities in this industry move fast. A booking can come together in less than 24 hours. The more flexible you are, the more we can do for you. We understand life is busy and we will always work with your schedule where we can. Just know that the talent who stays ready is the talent that books.
